Laser unwanted & increased hairiness

Get rid of unpopular hair forever

An increased hairiness of the body can occur in women as well as in men in varying degrees. Reasons can be a genetic predisposition or hormonal changes such as during pregnancy or menopause. Whether it is a medical complaint such as hirsutism (increased hair growth in women) or a purely aesthetic problem must be clarified individually. In case of a cosmetic problem or for the preventive treatment of proctological diseases such as the coccyx fistula, Dr. Hofer and Mr. Bärtl can help you.

Coccyx fistula: remove hair as a precaution

Coccyx fistulas are often caused by ingrown hair or hair that falls off the body and is massaged in by the movements of the buttocks. A preventive measure to prevent the disease from developing in the first place is permanent hair removal in the buttock area using low-level laser therapy laser epilation. The hair roots are inactivated by the energy of the laser light, so that no new hair grows back. Even if a coccyx fistula has already been treated, hair that grows in the surrounding area or gets into the wound can delay wound healing and lead to a relapse. We recommend the permanent hair removal of the gluteal fold before or after the removal of the coccyx fistula. This significantly reduces the risk of recurrence. The wound does not have to be healed for this, sometimes it heals only when the irritation by the surrounding hair is removed.

incompatibility of a shave, acne

In many people, the hair roots inflame after shaving, for example in the groin and in the genital area. Even ingrown hair can become a problem. In this case, laser hair removal can eliminate the inflammation. For acne vulgaris or acne inversa, laser treatment can have a direct anti-inflammatory effect in addition to hair removal.

Cosmetic hair removal

For many people, flawless and silky smooth skin is an ideal of beauty that wants to be realized especially in summer. You are welcome to come to us if you want to get rid of annoying hair in the intimate area or face. A diode laser with a wavelength of 800-810 nanometers is ideal for permanent hair removal on European skin types. In sensitive regions, treatment under local anesthesia (gel or injection) is possible.

How can hair be removed with the laser?

The laser applies energy-rich light to the hairy parts of the body. The light energy is absorbed by the melanin, the dye of the hair, and leads to a heating of the hair root above the critical temperature threshold of 60°. The hair root no longer produces hair.

However, many of our hair roots are in a "sleeping" state. If hair is in the growth phase or has just fallen out, the laser cannot work. Therefore, several treatments at intervals of four to eight weeks are required to achieve complete hair removal.

Do you have questions about laser hair removal? Do not hesitate to call us and make an appointment: We will be happy to advise you in detail on this subject.
